The night predominantly ran on scored improvisation, which was complex and challenging to the easily offended. The Big Kahuna’s behind Reactor Halls’ ongoing program of guest-curated nights commissioned this event. If you haven’t been to one of the other events I recommended you jog on down to check out the action. A rear end kick to the art world’s friend was delivered by compère Eǝrth Rod. Consuming large quantities of what appeared to be whisky, Rod was at the top of his game. Among the intermissions he juxtaposed eccentric introduction of acts, light-hearted Q and A and the appearance of urinating on stage. Pissing hell. To state the obvious this was no straightforward open mic night.  This was more a live art event that used an open mic night hat to generate a pick-n-mix of performances. Depression sinks in and everything comes to play. Brian Bright is a genuine punk Artist who was swindled by a hipster. The hipster will remain un named as his face is probably on a most wanted list in Nottingham. And if there isn’t a poster then I really should get round to making one. Brian Bright didn’t see this public schooled, cash bond, hipster coming along and worked with him intensely on putting on a night at Atkinson  Gallery , Nottingham, 21 Station Street titled Random Dissent : The hipster in question diddled money from Brian Bright and promoted his night with 20 flyers, of which Bright gave a lot more money, wanting a lot more flyers and a lot more promotion.   Hipster then advertised on the back of Wrights flyer, promoting ‘Calming Meditations’ on the opposite side, which the other client had paid him.
